Our time here in Crested Butte is quickly…sadly…coming to an end. We’ve had so much fun here this week! If you’ve never been to Crested Butte, I highly recommend it. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, laid-back, kid friendly but still adult friendly spot with amazing summer weather to vacation…this is the place!
It’s not as accessible as some other vacation spots in Colorado. But, that’s actually just one more thing that I really like about Crested Butte…because that means that it’s not as busy as many of the more accessible vacation spots here in this beautiful part of the country!
The town of Crested Butte is not very big…but, it’s got one main drag, Elk Avenue…that has lots of shops and restaurants. It’s a great place to grab a cup of coffee, window shop, grab some lunch or dinner, or take a little ice cream break during the day.
The entire town is full of parks that our kids LOVE! There’s practically a park on every other block around here and there’s also a great adventure area up on the mountain for kids to rock climb, bungee trampoline, and play miniature golf. We spent most of our day up there today and the kids had a blast!
The kids also enjoyed a lift ride up Mt Crested Butte with Mimi and Papa Joe…
Last night my husband Tyler and I celebrated our upcoming wedding anniversary. We had dinner up on the mountain at this fantastic little tapas restaurant called Django’s. Then we headed back down the mountain into town and met up with some dear friends…Nathan and Megan Jennings…at this funky and fabulous little spot called The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin. Our friends Nathan & Megan just happened to be in Colorado this week…which was such a wonderful coincidence! It’s been so cool to spend some time with them while we’ve been here. Nathan was actually Ty’s best man at our wedding almost 9 years ago…the two of them have been friends since high school. We’ve all been busy over the last few years with work…kiddos…life in general…so, the four of us had a lot of fun catching up!
Ty and Nathan also did some fly fishing earlier this week. Ty said that it was one of his “all time top fishing days!” He brought back a bunch of trout that we grilled out for dinner that night…it was wonderful! We served it with some fresh corn on the cob, a big dinner salad, and a glass of vino…perfecto!
Okay, I promise these are the last of my vacation photos! I’ll be back at home in the kitchen this next week and I’ll be posting some new healthy recipes. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
Health & Hugs from Colorado!
